One of a series of heavily processed recordings i made using a hikari monos cv. It's a small, highly tweakable synthesizer that's great for drones, resonant pings, and all manner of dynamic electronic sounds. Using s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin from twisted tools, i focused on generating short, punchy impulses that leaned into the resonant character of the original monos recordings. These sounds might be useful for ui buttons, as well as designing modern-retro sounds for games.

I used the ben burtt technic to design this punch; mixing a whip tail sound with a the sound taken from hitting a jacket with a baseball bat. Digital noise made from raw binary files extracted from hdd with hexplorer using raw import function in audacity. Files were 4, each made from 200 sectors. I modified each sound using filters and joined them together to make longer looping example. Good to use in a game or 3d video animation as background ambient noise. Audacity and hexplorer are freeware and you can make similar job with them. . .

This is the 1st sound i uploaded online in like four years. I'm shocked no one uploaded a sound like this prior 2020! it was made using layering of crackling sounds, deep drum for base, chain sound effect, and of course a nice swoosh.
